Spring Stuff

In Salt Lake we tend to go directly from winter to summer, which can be really disappointing since both of those seasons can be so extreme.

As an example of what I mean, last week it was snowing, and yesterday it was 80°. Just to clarify, to me, 80° is extreme, and the 100+ temps we will have to endure in a few weeks is unbearable to think about. I function best between 65-70°, and if I had to choose between forever living in a Salt Lake winter or a Salt Lake summer, winter would win hands down!

But, today the tulips are starting to open, the daffodils are starting to fade and those really early purple dudes, whose name I have forgotten, are pretty much long gone. The buds on my Aspen trees (that I planted with my grandson three years ago) are opening and showing that sweet shade of green unique to spring! It reminds me of the color of Australian Gaspeite and kites. Do you see anything in this post that might have been inspired by spring? These earrings are currently on sale in my ArtFire shop at NightSkyJewelry.artfire.com.

So I feel happy and inspired! While it's still cool this morning, I'm going to go out and dig up some weeds and move some plants around in my flower beds. Then I will come in and make some green kyanite earrings that have been dancing around in my head for a few days. And maybe some red garnet....

Oh, so many ideas, so little time!
